FIU's Craig Layman has been named to a team tasked with developing the first MPA in Haiti

Craig Layman has been named as part of a multi-disciplinary team tasked with developing the first marine protected area in Haiti. Dr. Layman will travel to Haiti this March for preliminary scouting of the proposed protected site. This effort is associated with The Nature Conservancy's Caribbean Challenge Program, an effort to protect 20% of marine and coastal habitats in the region by 2020. Dr. Layman serves on the Caribbean Program Advisory Board for The Nature Conservancy, a very exciting opportunity to influence conservation throughout the region. Updates will be provided as the Challenge, and Haiti's new protected area, develop further.
